Learn About Humanism

Humanism is an outlook, a methodology, and a positive way of life. There is no doctrine or dogma to follow. The links in this section will help you learn more about Humanism if you are new to the subject.

Two questions arise: What is Humanism? And why Florida?

Humanism has as many definitions as the number of people identifying themselves as such. But Humanism is not so much about individuals as it is about the links connecting them. The essence of Humanism is found in the interlinked social fabric which connects all of us with each other, and with our environment.

Humanism exists where questions about our world begin; where the open, bold and demystifying process of skeptical and critical thinking brings honesty and forthright vigor to conversations at every level of society. It is about freedom, reason, and science. It concedes that though we might sometimes be wrong, or want for answers in our search for the truths about ourselves and our world, the struggle to find those truths is worth the effort.

It promotes the uninhibited exercise of the human imagination that brings forth creation in art. It is the essential human curiosity about the the nature of ourselves and our world, and a willingness to submit to the discipline of reason in order to discover them.
