Humanist Holidays
Suggestions
for Florida Humanist Communities
Note: If
your group is planning to celebrate one of these holidays, please
let us know so he can help alert the media.

- Darwin's Birthday - celebrate science
April 22nd
- Earth Day - celebrate environmental protection
May 1st -
This is a big holiday (Day of Prayer, Day of Reason, May Day,
International Workers day all collide on this day). We should
celebrate the reason that brought us the 40-hour work week and pray
that they don't get rid of the virgins dancing around the phallus in
the park. Then, to prep for Cinco De Mayo - in the evening we can
get drunk on Margaritas and shout "Viva the Revolution." - Just a
thought.
Memorial Day
- Atheists in Foxholes - join the community celebration and have a
BBQ to honor atheist veterans. Spotlight Colonel Ethan Allen.
June 21st
- World Humanist Day - Intro to Humanist classes?
July 4th
- Independence - or Indivisible Day. Celebrate the great experiment
in Democracy. Spotlight on Jefferson and Paine - Deists. Again, this
is a great time to join the communities in which we live in
celebration.
Aug 11th
- Ingersoll Day
Sept 23rd
- Banned Book Week
Oct 12th
- Freethought Day
Oct 31st

Winter
Celebrations - can't decide which holiday to celebrate?
Celebrate them all: Chriskwaanzukah! An all inclusive celebration of

Light and whatever else all rolled into one massive party.
